This week, the House voted on whether the U.S. government should ban TikTok from its citizens.
I voted no on this bill for several reasons. Chief among them, it would open Pandora's box and create a slippery slope for future government censorship of American and our precious First Amendment. As much as I want to be tough on China, this bill was not the way to do it.
If we want to be tough on China, why don’t we move our critical supply chain to be made in America? Why don’t we ban the Green New Deal which forces America to rely on China for EV batteries? Why don’t we become energy independent again by opening up drilling all over America, rebuilding every sector of fossil fuel energy in the U.S., and dominate the world? Why don’t we make decisions that strengthen our dollar?
