2/4/23 Update From Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene

It has been a big week for Republicans in the House. We are leaping forward in our duties to stand up for American citizens in Washington.

We officially declared that Covid is over and restored freedom to our heroes in healthcare.

We held our first Oversight Hearing of this Congress.

We stood up for biological women on National Girls and Women in Sports Day.

I’m proud to be your voice in Congress, and I’m excited for you to see how I’m representing your interests and your values in DC.

Rep. MTG speaks with reporters on the Capitol steps.

This week, House Republicans passed H.R. 382, officially declaring that Covid is over.

The White House plans to announce that Covid is over, but it's too late: We beat them to it

We also passed the Freedom for Healthcare Workers Act. This bill dissolves vaccine mandates for healthcare workers, though they should have never existed in the first place. Watch my Floor Speech in support of the bill below.

The federal government’s mishandling of Covid does not stop at unconstitutional mandates. The taxpayer dollars allocated to assist American citizens during the pandemic were instead used to fund left-wing Marxist indoctrination across the country.

I had the privilege of questioning Gene Dodaro, the Comptroller General of the United States, on the misuse of Covid funds during this week’s Oversight Committee Hearing. Watch my question series below.

February 1st was National Girls and Women in Sports Day, and I was honored to be part of a panel discussing the invasion of biological men in women’s sports. I was joined by former collegiate swimmer Riley Gaines and two of my colleagues from the House.

As a former nationally-ranked CrossFit athlete and a mother of a former D1 collegiate softball player, I take the infiltration of men into women’s sports personally. I will not stand for the Left’s woke agenda to erase women’s sports, and I will always protect our girls.

Standing up for Georgia’s 14th District

Three individuals in Georgia's 14th District were murdered by Chinese-made fentanyl

This week, three Americans in Georgia’s 14th District died because of the fentanyl pouring in from our open southern border. Read more about the story here, and watch my response below.

Three of my constituents dies from fentanyl. When will Biden secure the border?

Although our great state of Georgia does not border Mexico, Biden’s border crisis affects us at home. Every state is a border state until our southern border is secured. The Biden Administration continues to perpetuate the invasion at our southern border, and they must be held accountable.

I am a proud cosponsor of Rep. Andy Biggs’s Impeachment Articles against Alejandro Mayorkas. As the US Secretary of Homeland Security, Mayorkas is charged with the responsibility to protect American citizens from threats from abroad and to enforce our laws as written. Clearly, he has neglected his duty and must be impeached.

Reinvesting in Georgia’s 14th District

I am so happy to announce that counties in Georgia’s 14th District are part of a nearly $182 million grant for Rural Development from the United States Department of Agriculture. Ensuring that my constituents have access to the things that they need is one of my top priorities in Congress.

Paulding and Cobb counties are two beneficiaries of a nearly $142 million grant from USDA

This Rural Development investment will be used to connect 10,948 consumers and
build and improve 502 miles of line. This loan includes various smart grid projects in
the amount of $32,330,400 including the installation of 96.10 miles of fiber backbone
specifically to provide the backhaul of data from remote substations and offices back
to the corporate headquarters. Greystone Power is headquartered in Hiram, Georgia
and provides service to 141,146 customers over approximately 7,355 miles of line in
eight counties in Georgia.

Paulding, Floyd, and Haralson counties are three beneficiaries of a $39 million grant from USDA

This Rural Development investment will be used to connect 3,250 consumers and
build and improve 338 miles of line. This loan includes $4,406,000 in smart grid
technologies. Carroll EMC is headquartered in Carrollton, Georgia, and serves 53,439
consumers over 5,548 miles of line in seven counties in Georgia.
