Chairwoman Greene Demands Transparency on USAGM Corruption, Biden Administration’s Rehiring of Fired Officials

FOX NEWS EXCLUSIVE: House GOP firebrand drives DOGE committee investigation of government media agency corruption

Today, Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, Chairwoman of the House Oversight Subcommittee on Delivering on Government Efficiency, formally requested key records from Special Advisor Kari Lake at the U.S. Agency for Global Media (USAGM) following serious allegations of corruption, financial mismanagement, and national security failures.

For years, USAGM engaged in rampant cronyism, issuing corrupt contracts to friends and family through the Open Technology Fund (OTF), while senior officials bypassed security protocols, mishandled sensitive information, and obstructed investigations. A whistleblower exposed the misconduct, prompting a third-party investigation by the law firm McGuire-Woods, which confirmed the agency’s widespread dysfunction and abuse of power.

Under President Trump, these findings led to accountability measures, including the termination of multiple USAGM officials in 2020. However, the Biden Administration quietly reinstated many of these same individuals, allowing them to resume their previous activities with zero consequences.

In response, Chairwoman Greene is demanding access to:
  1. All settlement agreements involving USAGM officials implicated in the McGuire-Woods Report.
  2. All grant agreements awarded through the Open Technology Fund.
  3. All relevant communications between USAGM, OTF, and McGuire-Woods regarding the investigation.

“The Biden Administration’s decision to rehire corrupt officials who were fired for cause under President Trump is an insult to taxpayers and a direct threat to national security,” said Chairwoman Greene. “We will not allow the Biden regime to cover up illegal activity and shield bad actors from accountability.”

Chairwoman Greene looks forward to Special Advisor Lake’s response.
